Cruising for Christmas joy!
Merrymaking was in full gear at Rose Tree Park in Upper Providence Township earlier today for the 16th annual Holiday Cruise for Kids, with Chief David Splain, Sgt. Michael Montgomery and Traffic Safety Officer Kevin Smith representing the Nether Providence Police Department.
Organized by the Delco Cruisers, dozens of classic cars and motorcycles paraded to Coebourn Elementary School in Brookhaven, escorting two flatbed trucks filled with toys donated through the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program for delivery to hospitalized children.
Santa, Mrs. Claus and a few elves waved from the crowded motorcade, delighting onlookers and passersby along the nearly seven-mile route.
For Splain, it marked his 10th time taking part in the popular toy run.
“It’s always an honor to participate in such a great cause,” the Chief said. “It has become a tradition for the Nether Providence Police Department.”
