FAQ

Nether Providence Police Department Frequently Asked Questions:

WHEN SHOULD I CALL 9-1-1?

Call 9-1-1 when police, fire or medical assistance is needed.  When calling 9-1-1, be prepared to give an address, cross streets or notable landmarks. Answer all questions completely but as briefly as possible. Stay on the line until the operator terminates the call. If the situation changes before help arrives, call 9-1-1 again and update the operator.

HOW DO I CONTACT THE POLICE AFTER NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS?

9-1-1 is for all police responses.  If you only need to speak to an officer and do not want them to come to your residence (non-emergency), you can still call 9-1-1 and ask the dispatcher to have an officer call you.

I NEED FINGERPRINTS TAKEN, WHAT DO I DO?

Contact the Nether Providence Police at (610) 892-2875 during regular business hours.

HOW DO I OBTAIN A COPY OF A POLICE REPORT?

You may obtain a copy of a police report between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday, at the Nether Providence Police Department.  A $15.00 fee will apply.

HOW CAN I RETRIEVE MY VEHICLE IF IT HAS BEEN TOWED BY THE POLICE?

In order to retrieve the vehicle that has been towed, you must first obtain a “vehicle release form” from the Nether Providence Police Station. After obtaining the form, you can then go to the company that towed your vehicle and provide them with the vehicle release form along with proof of a valid driver’s license and your vehicle will be released. The vehicle must have valid registration and insurance to be driven off of the tow company’s lot. If the vehicle was towed for suspended/expired registration, or lack of valid insurance, those issues need to be corrected prior to picking up your vehicle or the vehicle cannot be driven off of the impound lot.

WHAT IS THE CURFEW IN THE TOWNSHIP?

For the protection of the health, morals and welfare of the children of the Township of Nether Providence, it shall be unlawful for any minor person to be or remain upon any public place between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. of the following day, prevailing time, except that on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve and day of any holiday as established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the hours shall be 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Failure to abide by this rule can result in a citation being issued under the ordinance.

I AM A VICTIM OF DOMESTIC ABUSE. HOW DO I RECEIVE HELP?
