Police investigated a report of shots fired in the area of Plush Mill Road and the I-476 overpass, forcing the temporary closure of the roadway shortly before 8:30 pm Wednesday.

There were no signs of anyone injured or property damaged following an extensive search by responding officers, including Sgt. Michael Montgomery and Patrolmen Michael Dolan and Jordan Culbreath. 

A witness walking his dog told officers he heard three or four gunshots coming from a passing silver vehicle with tinted windows. The scene was processed by Detective Michael Erickson, who recovered several shell casings that Chief David Splain said would be submitted for ballistic analysis.
