PASSING OF FORMER NETHER PROVIDENCE POLICE OFFICER JAMES WHITE:
James White, 90, passed away on September 17, 2025. Officer White began his career with the Nether Providence Township Police Department in April 1967 as a probationary patrolman. Over the next three decades, he proudly served the residents of Nether Providence, retiring as a Patrolman in January 1997.
During his 30 years of service, Officer White was known for his steady presence, professionalism, and commitment to keeping the community safe. He was respected by his fellow officers and well-liked by the residents he served. His dedication to public safety helped shape the department and set a standard for those who followed in his footsteps.
Officer White’s legacy of service continues to be remembered and appreciated by the Nether Providence Police Department and the community he faithfully protected. Rest in peace sir, and thank you for your service.
