Last week Off. Matthew Liss had the honor and privilege of being invited to the prestigious FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, to teach an Active Shooter class.  Off. Liss is a certified instructor in the FBI’s ALERRT Active Shooter Program and provides training to the police officers not only from the Nether Providence Police Department but also officers from police departments across Delaware County.  
The FBI ALERRT Active Shooter program has been provided to officers from all over Delaware County since 2018. This critical training resulted from a unique partnership between the FBI, the Delaware County Police Chiefs Association, and the Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #27.  Over 1,300 officers have attended this training since its inception, and it has been identified as a model for active shooter training throughout this region of the United States.
