A threat against Congregation Ohev Shalom prompted an immediate response by the Nether Providence Township Police Department Friday afternoon.

An employee at the synagogue, located at 2 Chester Road in the township’s Wallingford section, alerted police about 3 p.m. regarding a threat that was received via email just a few minutes prior.

Responding officers, including K-9 units from other departments, conducted an exhaustive search before the building was determined to be safe, according to Chief David Splain.
A joint investigation with the FBI is continuing.
