On December 12, 2022, at approximately 6:50 am, the Nether Providence Township Police Department was dispatched to the area of 501 Plush Mill Rd. for the one-vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Officers arrived on the scene and located a single vehicle off the roadway and unoccupied. A Pennsylvania driver's license was located on the ground outside the vehicle's driver's door belonging to a female, and a purse was left behind.
As officers checked the area for the operator, Officer Dolan observed a male and female crossing over Baltimore Pike from the crash area. Ofc. Dolan identified the female as the vehicle owner that left the crash scene.
During the investigation, the male, later identified as Knapp, was found to have a County Probation warrant and admitted to being in the vehicle when the accident occurred with the female operator. After taking him into custody for the warrant, he was also found to have several small baggies believed to contain heroin. Knapp was processed and transported to George Hill Correctional Facility and will be required to appear for the charges against him.
