During the 2024-2025 school year, 2,332 school bus violations were reviewed for school bus violations that occurred in Marple Township. Of those reviewed, more than 1,600 (69%) were approved and civil fines were issued by Bus Patrol. The areas in Marple Township where most violations occurred were: 100, 200, & 300 blocks of Lawrence Road; 2200 block of S. Sproul (Russell School); 1600 (O’Hara) & 1900 blocks of S. Sproul Road; 100 block of S. Sproul Road; and 100 block of N. Sproul Road. Most violations occurred from vehicles traveling in the opposite direction of the school bus, however, there were violations which occurred from vehicles traveling the same direction as the bus, and even some of those had to drive into oncoming traffic to pass the bus. Remind yourself, remind your family members, and remind your friends, a new school year is ready to begin, and everyone needs to pay attention on the roadway!
You can see some of the violations for yourself here: 2024-2025 School Bus Violations. All of these violators received a $300.00 fine, except for the last video where the vehicle actually stopped.
