On 11/19/2021 at 1600 hours the East Lansdowne Police took a report from a resident for a Catalytic Converter theft which occurred overnight. The resident reported parking her vehicle in the driveway of the residence around 2000 hours on 11/18/2021. There were no surveillance cameras in the area where the theft occurred and there was no evidence left underneath the vehicle.
Thieves are targeting Catalytic Converters because they can be removed for the vehicle in less than a minute. The Catalytic Converters can be very expensive to replace and the average return for the thief is $250.
Catalytic Converter theft, which occur often during the overnight hours, are on the rise. Please be vigilant and call 911 if you see any suspicious activity in the area.
If residents in the area of Pembroke Avenue and Beverly Avenue could check their surveillance cameras in the overnight hours of 11/18/2021 to 11/19/2021 and contact the East Lansdowne Police if you notice any suspicious vehicles or persons in the area.
