On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 11:27 AM, The Ridley Township Police Department received a report of shots fired in the vicinity of the 800 Block of Rose Ave. Upon arrival, police observed a black male (later identified as JOHNSON) in the front passenger seat of a Black Dodge Charger. Once officers approached, JOHNSON made furtive movements between the seat and the passenger door. Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. When questioned about the odor, JOHNSON claimed that he may have smoked marijuana earlier in the day.
Upon looking inside the vehicle, four white glassine zip lock bags (which contained a white powdery substance) were observed on the floor in plain view. During the course of the investigation, JOHNSON entered a residence and fled out the back door. Due to the nature of the call, as well as the detected contraband, the vehicle was impounded. While completing the tow inventory process, copious amounts of suspected drugs and paraphernalia were seized. There was also a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson SD40 VE firearm in the vehicle. The firearm was loaded with 10 live rounds of hollow point ammunition, including one in the chamber. All the suspected narcotics are in the process of being transferred to a Pennsylvania State Police Crime Laboratory for forensic analysis.
A search through NCIC determined that JOHNSON is a convicted felon with an extensive criminal record. At this time, a warrant has been issued for MUTATIE HAKEEM JOHNSON. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of JOHNSON is requested to contact Ridley Township Detectives at (610)532-4002 or simply leave a tip on CRIMEWATCH.
