On Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at 4:51 PM, The Ridley Township Police Department were dispatched to The Home Depot (300 E. MacDade Blvd) in reference to four subjects involved in a theft. Home Depot loss prevention advised that the subjects were loading items into a U-Haul truck near the contractor’s entrance. Upon arrival, officers blocked in the U-Haul in order to prevent it from leaving the scene.
Freddie Franklin (driver), Michael Moss, Shante Dinkins, along with Jerome Purdy were in the vicinity of the U-Haul. Upon further investigation, it was determined that three of the subjects had entered the store and returned suspected stolen merchandise which totaled $852.24. An additional $3,604.10 worth of suspected stolen merchandise was recovered from the U-Haul.
All four subjects were placed under arrest. Franklin was found to be in possession of three identification cards. Dinkins had an active warrant out of Norristown. Suspected heroin as well as related drug paraphernalia were located in her purse. Purdy was found to have an active warrant out of Montgomery County. Suspected heroin was located in his left sock.
The U-Haul was impounded. All suspects were transported back to headquarters processed and charged accordingly.
