Not So Good Samaritan

Case

On Friday, December 18, 2020, at 2:39 PM, The Ridley Township Police Department received a call in reference to a theft that occurred at the CVS (located on MacDade Blvd @ Route 420).  Upon arrival, the victim advised that a black male (late 20’s wearing all black with a white face mask – photos attached) offered to help him at the self-checkout register.  The victim assumed that the male was an employee and accepted his supposed assistance.

The victim provided his debit card along with his pin number to the not so Good Samaritan who completed the purchase.  Once the transaction was complete, the presumed do-gooder walked out of the store with the debit card.  The victim attempted to get the male to stop unsuccessfully.  The mean one was last seen leaving the parking lot in a black sedan.

The victim was instructed to immediately cancel his debit card with the bank.  In the future, try not to be so trusting, there are a lot of people out there that don’t have the best of intentions even around the holidays.  If anyone knows the identity of the Grinch captured in the surveillance footage, please contact The Ridley Township Detectives (610)532-4002 or simply leave a tip on CRIMEWATCH.
