On Friday, April 2, 2021, at 12:22 AM, The Ridley Township Police Department received a call in reference to a retail theft discovered at the Wawa (1730 E. MacDade Blvd, in the Folsom Section of the Township). Upon arrival, an employee advised that a black male had stolen three cases of Red Bull. The three cases of Red Bull was valued at $236.88.
On Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 11:23 PM, the surveillance system captured a black male (later identified as SYLVESTER BROWN) enter the stock room and remove three cases of Red Bull. BROWN left the store via a side door that is not intended for customer use. He fled in a Green Chevrolet Pick-up with Delaware registration.
At this point in time, BROWN returned to the store. An employee recognized him and called the police. BROWN was standing by the stock room door watching the employees therein. It appeared that BROWN perceived that he was being watched and left the scene in the same Green Chevrolet Pick-up with Delaware registration.
Officer Mark Tancredi observed the Green Chevrolet Pick-up pull out of the WAWA and performed a vehicle stop on MacDade Blvd @ Sycamore Avenue. Upon approaching the vehicle, Officer Tancredi observed three cases of Red Bull in the back seat. BROWN was then arrested and charged accordingly.
