On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 3:19 AM, Officer Michael Callahan received a call in reference to a vehicle into a building at 940 N. Fairview Rd. (Notre Dame de Lourdes Church). Upon arrival, Officer Callahan observed a Silver Kia at the front glass doors of the building with the engine compartment on fire. OMISON BRIDGES was standing in the vicinity with a red bag at his feet.
BRIDGES claimed that he had been forced off the roadway by a vehicle that was no longer on the scene. Bridges exhibited bloodshot eyes, slurred his words and had a staggered gait. Subsequently, he was taken into custody under suspicion of driving while intoxicated. During a custodial search, a small vile of marijuana along with ½ white pill was discovered on his person. Furthermore, an Intratec Scorpion handgun with .22 caliber ammunition was located in the red bag.
At police headquarters, BRIDGES failed a field sobriety test. BRIDGES was then transported to Taylor Hospital where blood and urine samples were obtained. The specimens as well as the ½ white pill will be transferred to The Pennsylvania State Police Crime Laboratory for forensic analysis. NCIC revealed that BRIDGES is a convicted felon, an unlicensed suspended driver and had an active warrant for his arrest. Therefore, he is not permitted to own a firearm. BRIDGES was charged accordingly.
