Traffic Enforcement Update
The Marple Township Police Department joined the Pennsylvania State Police and over 215 municipal police agencies to conduct targeted aggressive-driving enforcement between July 6 and August 23, 2020.
During the above enforcement effort, MTPD officers that were assigned to the Aggressive Driving detail made 159 contacts and issued 150 aggressive-driving related citations during the enforcement period. 110 of the citations were issued for speeding.
During the month of September, with National Child Passenger Safety Week running September 20 through September 26, MTPD officers will work with Buckle Up PA and the Traffic Injury Prevention Project to ensure children arrive safely at their destinations. As part of this month’s traffic safety initiative, we will be highlighting the importance of buckling up and helping parents and guardians take advantage of safety resources. Law enforcement will be writing tickets to save young lives, please buckle up.
