Incident Blotter January 24 - January 31

During the past week, Marple Police Officers responded multiple times to the area of Candlewood Dr for reports of a dog running loose.  The Marple Police have received numerous complaints regarding the same dog and the matter is being handled by the Animal Control Officer.  

January 28th

  • At 0252 hours, Officer Austin Gallagher conducted a pedestrian stop on Polk Way.  During the course of the investigation, Officer Gallagher detected a strong odor of marijuana.  Further investigation led to the recovery of marijuana and a scale.  James McCabe, 19, of Broomall was charged with related charges.
  • At 0658 hrs, Officer Sexton was dispatched to the intersection of Palmers Mill and Paxon Hollow Rds for a vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle.    There were no injuries or property damage as a result of the accident.  The accident was investigated by Officer Sexton.
  • Officer Dave Lerro took a report of a fraud.  A victim came to HQ and reported that she received a phone call stating that she was wanted for murder in Texas and the only way she would not be in trouble is to give her social security number and to buy gift cards and send them money. The recipient of the call provided the caller with 20 dollars in gift cards before realizing that the call was a scam.  Be wary of any requests/demands for payment requiring gift cards, Western Union transfers or other electronic means.   

January 29th

  • Teresa Calloway, 59 years old from Philadelphia was arrested and charged with Retail Theft at the Walmart Store at 400 S State Rd after a Loss Prevention officer observed Calloway fail to make payment for $105 in merchandise.   Officer Dan Connon investigated and Calloway was cited and released.

January 31st

  • James Diamond, 19 years old from Broomall, was arrested and charged with sexual assault and related crimes.  Detective Nick Coffin is investigating the incident. 
  • A DSW customer reported having her purse stolen yesterday from inside the DSW Store at 400 S State Rd.   The Customer said that two of her debit cards were used at the same store: Snipes, 2600 MacDade Blvd, in Holmes.  Detective Andrew Ronsvalle is investigating the incident.
