Incident Blotter: January 17 - 24

  • January 18 2020 at 1243 am, MTPD was dispatched to Mr. Tire at 2610 West Chester Pike for a burglar alarm.  Responding Officers noticed flames and smoke coming from the ceiling of the garage. Broomall Fire Company responded and extinguished the fire. 

  • January 18, 2020 at 1151 pm, Ofc. Pat Sexton conducted a motor vehicle stop at Berkeley Rd and N Greenhill Rd.  During the vehicle stop, Ofc. Sexton detected an odor of burnt marijuana.  Drug paraphernalia and several bags of marijuana were subsequently recovered from within the vehicle.  Charges are pending.

  • January 22, 2020 at 565 Abbott Dr.  A theft of a catalytic converter was cut from a vehicle sometime since December 19th.  No other reports of catalytic converter thefts in the Township.

  • January 22, 2020  A resident brought a suspected hand grenade to the Police Station for disposal.  The Police Station was evacuated and the Delaware County CID Bomb Squad responded to the Police Station where the 'grenade' was x-rayed and determined to be a replica of a grenade. 

Additional traffic details were conducted during the week in the area of Lawrence and Sussex due to reports from the School District bus garage of motorists failing to heed to the school bus warning lights.
