Over the past few days, Marple Township and surrounding communities have experienced a rash of vehicle thefts as well as thefts of property/valuables from vehicles during the overnight hours.
Additionally, over the past few days, Marple Township and surrounding communities have experienced a rash of smash and grabs during daytime hours, from vehicles, primarily in park parking lots.
We do not believe the actors in both styles of thefts are the same. Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles, not leave their keys inside their vehicles, and to keep valuables out of view within their vehicles to prevent thieves from being able to steal vehicles and/or property.
