On July 1, 2022 at 01:58am, Officer Matthew Smith conducted a vehicle stop on a 2017 Nissan sedan displaying a Pennsylvania registration plate that was expired since October of 2021. Upon making contact with the operator, identified as Judah Ynoa-Parker, Officer Smith could detect an odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle, observed a glass smoking bong on the rear floor, and that the inspection was expired since November of 2021. The vehicle was towed due to the expired registration and inspection, and Ynoa-Parker was given a courtesy ride back to Philadelphia.
A search warrant for the vehicle was prepared and subsequently approved by the Honorable Robert D'Agostino. Upon executing the approved search warrant Detectives recovered the glass smoking bong, a sandwich bag containing a green vegetable matter that field tested positive for marijuana, additional items of drug paraphernalia, and a loaded black Taurus G2C 9mm handgun. A check of Ynoa-Parker yielded no record of a concealed weapons permit.
Ynoa-Parker was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, drug offenses, and traffic offenses.
