On Monday, April 19, 2021 at 12:42pm, Marple Police were dispatched to 1 Franklin Getz Drive, Broomall, PA 19008, for a burglary discovered. While officers were enroute, a second 911 call was received reporting an active domestic at the residence. The second caller reported that a white male with no shirt had left the residence on foot towards West Chester Pike. Officer Murrin arrived first and made contact with the male matching the description on the corner of West Chester Pike and Franklin Getz Drive. Officer Murrin identified the male as Mark Spinelli.
Sergeant Baylor arrived and made contact with the homeowner and her sister. Homeowner advised Sergeant Baylor that she arrived home at her residence today and found several windows and doors open to her residence. Homeowner said she left her residence last evening around 8:30pm after her ex-boyfriend, Mark Spinelli, showed up at the house. Homeowner stated that her and her sister walked through the residence and observed the interior of the residence had been ransacked. Homeowner stated that they walked outside to call police, and Spinelli came out of the house screaming and yelling. Upon the homeowner calling 911, Spinelli left the area of the residence towards West Chester Pike. Homeowner confirmed that she did not give Spinelli permission to be in the residence.
Spinelli’s vehicle was located on West Chester Pike approximately ½ mile away from the scene. A search of his vehicle recovered items belonging to the homeowner, which Spinelli did not have permission to take. Spinelli was charged with Burglary, Criminal Trespass, and Criminal mischief. Bail was set at 10% / $75,000, which Spinelli was unable to post. He was remanded to Delaware County Prison.
