On June 4, 2022 at 20:22 hours, Officer Joseph Varacalli conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger in the area of West Chester Pike and Malin Road. As Officer Varacalli exited his patrol vehicle, the Dodge Charger fled at a high rate of speed towards Newtown Township. Officer Varacalli continued pursuing the vehicle until it ultimately crashed in the area of Newtown Street Road and St. Davids Road. At the time of the crash, the operator and sole occupant, later identified as Khyree Pratt exited the Dodge Charger and fled on foot. A perimeter was immediately established by assisting officers and Pratt was taken into custody after a brief search. An additional search was conducted by Officer Kyne and his K9 partner Boya during which a Glock 17, 9mm firearm with an extended magazine was recovered, from the immediate area where Pratt had fled.
