During the months of May and June of 2021, several retail thefts were committed at 2180 West Chester Pike (Giant), and 1991 S. Sproul Road (ACME) in Broomall, as well as several retail stores throughout Delaware County and surrounding counties. Surveillance video of the actors and vehicle involved in the thefts often captured the same three individuals operating a Kia sedan with a Pennsylvania registration plate ending in 9874.
On June 22, 2021, Detective Ronsvalle observed a vehicle matching the description of the actors’ vehicle, operating in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center. Detective Ronsvalle observed the vehicle park in the lot for CVS, at which time two (2) individuals exited the vehicle with backpacks and entered the store. Upon seeing the individuals, Detective Ronsvalle was able to immediately identify them as the actors involved in multiple thefts. After approximately 10-15 minutes, both subjects exited the store and were detained by Detective Ronsvalle and assisting officers. A witness from inside the store confirmed that neither subject paid for any of the items they had concealed inside their backpacks.
The subjects were identified as Emily Journey and Sean Meenan. Through investigation, Detective Ronsvalle was able to identify Jordan Tait as the third suspect involved in many of the thefts. All three (3) subjects were charged accordingly for their parts in the theft scheme that resulted in the loss of over $2,000 from businesses in Marple Township.
