On Thursday August 22nd, 2024, at approximately 2:50pm, Lower Chichester Township Police Officers were dispatched to the Sonrise Christian Day School, located at 1627 Chichester Avenue, Linwood PA, 19061.
According to the caller, there was an intoxicated subject in front of the school. As Officers were responding, updates were dispatched, advising that the male subject was armed with a pair of scissors, and was attempting to force entry into the daycare from the lobby. The subject was described as a black male, wearing black clothing.
Upon the arrival of the initial Officer, entry was made into the building where the Officer found clothing strewn about in the lobby. The Officer was informed that the subject had made his way to the 2nd floor. As the Officer pursued, he could hear loud banging, then the sound of glass breaking. Once upstairs, the Officer found a large broken window and discovered that the subject had leapt from the 2nd floor of the building.
Additional Officers were enroute, and upon the arrival of the first of those Officers, the male was found in the roadway, in traffic, and naked. The responding Officer cautiously provided commands to the blood covered, and obviously injured subject, with which the subject eventually complied and was taken into custody.
Other additional Officers from multiple surrounding agencies assisted in providing medical attention/aid to the subject who was bleeding from numerous areas. EMS arrived on location and provided further medical attention to the subject, ultimately transporting him to Crozer-Chester Medical Center (CCMC) for evaluation and treatment.
While enroute to CCMC, the subject, now identified as 18-year-old Saheir Sadler-Chandler, spat blood and saliva on medical staff.
