The City of Chester Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors that saving parking spots on city streets is strictly prohibited. It has come to our attention that some individuals have been using various items, such as cones, chairs, and other objects, to reserve parking spaces on public streets.
Our officers will be enforcing City Ordinance 930.01, Obstructions Prohibited, which prohibits the practice of reserving parking spaces on public streets. Any items found to be used for this purpose will be confiscated and discarded. Furthermore, individuals found to be responsible for holding parking spots will be cited for violating the ordinance.
We understand that parking in the city can be challenging at times, but it is essential that we maintain a fair and orderly system for all users. Saving parking spots not only causes inconvenience to others but also creates safety hazards and obstructs traffic flow.
We kindly request that all citizens respect this ordinance and refrain from using items to reserve parking spaces on city streets. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our department.
Let's work together to maintain a safe and respectful community for everyone.
Remember: Saving parking spots on city streets is prohibited and may result in citation and confiscation of items.
