On May 8, 2025 the City of Chester Police Department held a commendation ceremony in the community room at Chester City Hall. This event recognized the outstanding accomplishments and hard work of department personnel within the first quarter of the year.
The ceremony provided an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication, hard work, and commitment of our officers who have made significant contributions to the department and the community. The event was a testament to the department's ongoing efforts to promote excellence and recognize the tireless efforts of its personnel.
Corporal Brian Boerger and Officers Michael Bramble, Michael Brodzinski, Joshua DiSylvestro, Thomas Geromichalos, Andrew Kuhlmeier, Zachary Litvinenko, and Geoffrey Walls were presented the Commissioner's Award for being outliers in the Patrol Division for firearms discovered/seized.
Commissioner Katrina Blackwell, Captain Matthew Goldschmidt, Officers Michael Brodzinski, Angel Carrion, Mark Crawford, Geoffrey Walls, and Leroy Whitaker, as well as Aston Township EMTs Chris Bradley and Kevin Miller, Sr. received the Life Saving Commendation.
Commendations for Merit were presented to Captain Matthew Goldschmidt, Sergeant Matthew Steward, and Officers John Benozich, Michael Brodzinski, William Casey, Richard Fraim, Thomas Geromichalos, Daniel Mullarkey, Brianna Schrader, Ashby Shatteen-Brown, Michael Tierney, Geoffrey Walls, and Amanda Wilson.
Additionally, the Narcotics Division was recognized in tandem with members of the Delaware County District Attorney's Office for their work in Operation Spark Plug, and the Detective Division for their continued work to investigate criminal activity and bring closure to both victims and their families.
The Corporal Michael Beverly Officer of the Quarter Award was presented to Officer John Benozich.
The City of Chester Police Department is grateful for the hard work and dedication of all its officers and units. The award ceremony served as a celebration of their achievements and a reminder of the department's commitment to excellence in serving the community.
